Question: Can two cultures co-exist while while staying the same in culture?
Answer:(The essay below is an essay that was written previously and answers the question)

Could they have worked
The question is long running; could the Native Americans and the settlers from the East have co-existed? Could they have worked? The Mountain Men had respect for the Native peoples, and treated them with respect because they had spent a lot of time with them, but the men from the East had no respect for the Natives or their culture. There was no possible way for the two cultures and peoples to co-exist because of the manipulative, overpowering, and disrespectful nature of the eastern white men.
The first men to encounter the natives were the trappers/traders that came out to make money off of the animal skins from the animals of the Rockies. The biggest thing that worked between the two groups was the respect and acceptance that they worked to create between the two cultures. They all became very close and respectful of each other by making
good first impressions by trading their good materials with one another. And the biggest way they worked so well if because they didn't ever bother each other and purposely disrespect each other.
Another big thing about how well they worked was the fact that there were few mountain men living in the rockies. The fewer men to disrespect property and cultural things, the less disrespect there will be. These mountain men were the men who could have lasted with a long time in peace with the natives.
But, of course, "foreigners" from the East had to ruin all the peace and trust for their own benefit. They came into the mountains looking for their own riches. But little did they know they would be disturbing the peace between the white man and the native Americans who already lived there. Huge companies of eastern men tracked through the mountains, crossing through native territory and burial grounds, knowingly and not caring if they disrupt the people there. Immediately, the natives were offended and threatened. All the trust that the mountain men had built up over the years went down the drain. Because of the thought of "false trust", the natives started defending themselves by killing or harming every white man they saw.
If the only people who had ever inhabited the Rocky Mountains, or anything in the West were the mountain men, there
would be a large possibility, or at least a longer time span of peace and co-existence with white man and the Native Americans of the West. But because of the greedy nature of other Americans from the east, they disrupted that peace and they made it impossible for other Americans to live alongside natives.
