In Colorado, we have the 5 regions, otherwise knows as the 5 P's; Piedmont, Plains, Parks, Peaks, and Plateaus. Colorado Fun Fact: Colorado has the highest elevation than any other state in the country. Here are some of the most interesting things about each region;

The Plains:

-40% of Colorado

- called the Great American Dessert

The Piedmont:

-Home of the most fertile land in Colorado

-The most humanly populated region in Colorado

The Peaks:

-The state's greatest water resource because of the snow melt in the spring

The Parks:

-Large open spaces in between the peaks

-Ex: The San Luis Valley or South Park

The Plateaus:

-These make up the western side of Colorado(past the mountains)

-Ex: Mesa Verde
