In Colorado, we have the 5 regions, otherwise knows as the 5 P's; Piedmont, Plains, Parks, Peaks, and Plateaus. Colorado Fun Fact: Colorado has the highest elevation than any other state in the country. Here are some of the most interesting things about each region;
The Plains:
-40% of Colorado
- called the Great American Dessert
The Piedmont:
-Home of the most fertile land in Colorado
-The most humanly populated region in Colorado
The Peaks:
-The state's greatest water resource because of the snow melt in the spring
The Parks:
-Large open spaces in between the peaks
-Ex: The San Luis Valley or South Park
The Plateaus:
-These make up the western side of Colorado(past the mountains)
-Ex: Mesa Verde
